Estate Improvements
We want to ensure that our estates are kept in good condition and that we provide good quality estate services to all our residents. One of the ways we do this is by working together with our residents to identify improvements that are required on estates and ensure these improvements are carried out.
Here are some of the recent improvements we have carried out:
Replacement of Letterboxes at Soujourner Truth Close
We have replaced the letterboxes at Sojourner Truth Close at Block 1 - 5 due to wear and tear and because water was seeping through the letterboxes when it rains.
Refurbishment of Bin Stores, Replacement of Bollard Lights and Installation of Security Light at Sojourner Truth Close
We have knocked down the existing brick wall of the bin area at Sojourner Truth Close and built a new bin enclosure large enough to take two bins instead of one bin, as was the case with the old bin area. We have requested for a recycling waste bin to be provided by the London Borough of Hackney Recycling Department for residents alongside the general waste bin. We are currently waiting for the recycling bin to be delivered.
Other improvements we have carried out at this scheme include the replacement of the external bollard lights, replacement of the external communal wall light by
the vehicle gate and fitting of a self-closing lock to the pedestrian side gate in order to provide extra security for residents. The gate now shuts behind you when you go in and out of the estate.
